Dieting and Health
Why Diets Don't Work
So many of us diet our way to large and larger sizes. The main reason is we choose to stop what is working is to indulge for a while because we feel we deserve it.
Well, yes losing weight on any diet is a great accomplishment but is the celebration worth the loss of control and discipline? Can't we have both?
There has to be a way to diet, lose weight and not feel the need to "celebrate" with the wrong food and lifestyle choices.
Choosing to diet
When we CHOOSE to diet we search for something that will work for "me". The excuses we make for something not working can be valid in some cases, but in many cases it breaks down to a case of the lazies.Yes I said it LAZY!
I am guilty of it, I fully admit it and that gives me the right to say it! When talking to people about their past diet experiences it usually breaks down to something changed in their lives and they got lazy with the routine they had established. Sometimes a break in a diet is necessary. An injury may prevent exercise, an illness may prevent a regular diet, but beyond something drastic we are just justifying a lack of drive, and a big case of lazy-itis!
Unless your health is being compromised by something specific, an allergy, diabetes, celiacs, and so on, we should not DENY ourselves the foods we love to eat. I, for one, still eat my chocolate, and carbs, and every other thing that THEY say will make you FAT!
I love Food, always have always will.
I just make sure that what I am eating is not in EXCESS and that is the KEY. Excess is what fuels the world of fat. We have fast food that is not portioned to be healthy but to be addictive. We have isles in the store that have over processed foods that last way too long on the shelf and in our bodies ( but taste soo good). We have diet programs that cost money to join and money to buy their foods (which are usually just portion controlled but cost more than the store) and money a month and money if you gain!!! And other programs that offer information only but still at a very high cost!
An Honest Diet -er?
Where do we turn?First we have to be honest with ourselves about what our goals are, how lazy about it we KNOW we are and what we want in a diet. Simple right? Honesty Who knew?
For me I wanted to a diet that did not have me measuring my foods, I hate it and won't do it. I also wanted something that was easy.
I knew I was looking for a shake program, but I also knew the ones that tasted bad and had me stopping before any real results were showing. You can only drink gross for so long.
I tried a few more diet shake programs, taste tested you could say. I also knew there would be a cost and had a budget based on the food I was not going to be eating. It was part of my grocery budget and I set my limits. I based it on reducing the quantity of the stuff I shouldn't eat (not eliminating) as well as the fact that I would not be eating lunch or breakfast so estimating how much I spend on Breakfast and lunchs for myself - bingo a realistic budget.
Thats when I found Herbalife!
Passed the taste test. (Tried the chocolate of course!)The simplest diet plan the coach and I came up with was within my budget ( with room to spare)
2 for 2
Now the Ultimate test - does the Herbalife Shake Diet work?
Well, every diet claims to work and usually does if you stick to it, but I mean will it work for the long haul. Will I stick to it because I want to and not fall into the lazies as was my M.O. (method of operation)My answer is YES! I love it! I have lost over 23lbs and kept it off (for the majority of 3 years), and even at my goal weight I am not giving up my shakes which makes keeping it off soooo easy!
I have even branched out! I have substituted the occasional chocolate bar (yumm) with the Herbalife Deluxe protein bars(double yumm) and my morning tea with the Herbal Tea Concentrate (favorite is the raspberry or maybe peach). My energy has never been better! My face has cleared up ( had acne along with the weight from having babies that didn't go away)
I love what it has done for me and hope you will give Herbalife a taste test yourself and see the results for yourself. And a bonus!! they have a 30 day money back guarantee! If you don't get results, send back the empty for a refund.
What do YOU have to LOSE!!!
