Herbalife calls it the International Business Pack or Digital Business Starter Kit. You may know it as the Herbalife Member Pack or Distributor Pack. In the United States it costs $54.95, and Herbalife says there is no other required purchase.
If it doesn't work out
You can cancel your distributorship at any time. In your first year, Herbalife refunds the starter kit in full. If you cancel, you can also return unopened products bought in the last year for a full refund, and Herbalife pays the shipping.
Most people who join as distributors do it only for the discount on products for themselves and their household. They don't sell or recruit. For those who do sell, here is what Herbalife reports for the United States in 2025:

Herbalife ended the Preferred Member program and replaced it with Wellness Rewards. Preferred Members were moved to Wellness Rewards VIP, and shopping as a Preferred Member on MyHerbalife.com ended on July 20, 2026. Questions about your own account go to Herbalife Member Services at (866) 866-4744.
Every Wellness Rewards member shops through a distributor's Herbalife site, and a VIP who later becomes a distributor stays with that same distributor as their sponsor. So pick someone active and local you'll be glad to work with.

Can I change my sponsor later?
Not easily. Herbalife keeps a Wellness Rewards VIP who becomes a distributor with their original sponsor. To change, they must place no orders directly with Herbalife for 90 days and then sign a new distributor agreement. Choose carefully the first time.
Do I have to sell to be a distributor?
No. Herbalife reports that most people who join as distributors do it only for the discount and do not sell or recruit.
What happened to the Herbalife Preferred Member program?
Herbalife replaced it with Herbalife Wellness Rewards. Joining is free as a Wellness Rewards Member; the paid VIP membership adds discounts. Preferred Member shopping on MyHerbalife.com ended on July 20, 2026.
