Holiday Blues - Getting Back Into Routine!
We may not want to admit it, but we are at that time of year again: the time when the holidays are over, the summer is starting to wind down, and we are facing that long slog until we can legitimately start celebrating Halloween. It can be incredibly frustrating, especially if we feel that we have not really been able to relax. Some people have the opposite problem – they have relaxed so much, they cannot imagine going back to work again!
However, there are many positive aspects of getting back into the routine of normal life, even if we do not care to see them at first. Now that you can get back into the swing of real life, you will be able to return to your exercise routine. The endorphins that you gain from exercise will soon put a smile back on your face! You will also be able to stick much closer to a healthier diet. Instead of never knowing exactly when you are going to have a full meal – or what that meal will be! - as often happens when we are on holiday, you can now plan ahead. This means that you will also save money when you go to do your grocery shopping. Studies have suggested that going food shopping with a list means that we can save around 30% of what we would have spent without one!
There are so many positives that come from returning back to normal life that you should start getting excited about it! Yes, we can slip into the holiday blues when we look back on all of the memorable moments with our loved ones over the last few months, but don't forget – you have the chance to make even more wonderful memories this Christmas!

Getting Active and having Fun
Getting fit and healthy can often be incredibly boring and discouraging. You don't want to spend your life trapped in a gym, but there often do not seem to be other ways in which to exercise. However, there are now more and more events that are being catered to the person that wants to get fit and have fun at the same time – and one of my favourites is an event that also allows people to exercise for charity.
London Night Rider is an event during which hundreds, if not thousands of people get together, and ride around London from one evening to the next morning. The route is set out, and is about 100 kilometres. It was started in 2010 with only 300 cyclists, but last year there was over four thousand. The event encourages people to be active, and to raise some funds for a good cause.
The cause that I have chosen is a local school, that badly needs the funding. I and my team – who are all at different levels of fitness – set off at 23:55 on a Saturday evening in the dark, with enough lights on to shame a Christmas tree. Together we looked like the extras from a TRON film! The ride was fantastic: very busy, as the roads are not closed off, with coming up to 200 people waiting at one set of lights! The views of London at night time were great, the roads full of pot holes, the traffic terrible. But after 104km, crossing the finish line at 5:45am on Sunday morning, I felt amazing.
I encourage everyone to sign up for next year's London Night Rider, and see what events are in your area that allow you to get active and have fun at the same time.

Finally getting Healthy
It is often not until you really sit down and think about your diet that you realise just how far you are from being healthy. Whether it is a large amount of preservatives and colourings, or just too much chocolate, there are very few people that have a great feeling when they consider their lifestyle. But there is a very simple way that you can greatly improve your well-being, and it is so simple.
Introducing herbal products into your daily routine is an excellent way to bring your body back to the natural balance that it should be. Our bodies are, after all, completely natural, and the more we can remove chemical and synthetic materials, the better we will feel. If you are despite to achieve some serious weight-loss, then herbal products will be perfect for you – instead of fighting your body, herbal products work naturally with your body to re-align it with a healthy, happy state.
Being active is another easy and efficient way to increase your healthiness. Just twenty minutes of gentle exercise every day can great improve your muscle strength, posture, and balance. This modern world has taken away, for many of us, the feeling that we need to exercise, but even just walking to work instead of getting transport is a brilliant way to introduce exercise to your life.
If you are unsure exactly how you can better your health and make yourself feel better, then Herbalife is a brilliant place to start.
